Inside Technical Sales – Pump & Valve

Some basic duties include but are not limited to:

• Selection of pumps, valves, and other process equipment, prepare quotes from engineered specifications and general inquiries
• Inspection of pump, valve and related equipment to determine repair requirements and/or replacement options
• Parts and Service sales and promotion; Inventory count
• Answering customers questions, troubleshooting pump, valve, equipment and system issues
• Ordering parts, subcontracted work and equipment to fill orders
• Organizing orders for any shop production, including dimensioned shop sketches
• Expediting and tracking purchase orders to ensure equipment and parts arrive timely
• Final checks of equipment and repairs prior to shipping
• Co-ordinate field work by; organizing customers, shop personnel, subcontractors; Developing timelines
• Posting of supplier’s invoices and credits and reviewing same to ensure they match quoted pricing
• Working with shop personnel to quote, coordinate and complete various jobs
• Some system design of piping/valves, pumps, etc..

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in sales, service or estimating role is preferred
• Experience with pumps, valves or water system equipment is considered a strong asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Good interpersonal skills, phone skills and etiquette, proficiency in reading and understanding technical documents and writing detailed quotes
• Computer and software literate; Capable of a variety of math calculations
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Reasonable to good typing skills as this position involves daily typing of quotes, orders and emails
• Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
• Occasional lifting of items of an approximate weight of 50+Lbs
• Individuals must be capable of this occasional to frequent heavy work
• Initial training, involves hands on training on pump, valve and equipment teardown and repair in the shop and field as well as required safety training
• Working within existing company systems and procedures for quotes and repairs
• Taking direction from Department Manager but also being able to work unsupervised while maintaining professionalism, safety and focus on company goals
